About Data Entry/Book-keeper

The Data Entry/Book-keeper will handle high volume data entry for the accounting department. This role is responsible for assisting with managing the company books and ensuring documentation is consistent and accurate. The successful candidate for this position will be a team player and a high performer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enter or update accounting data into the company computer system
  • Transfer data from paper documentation to electronic files and database systems
  • Accurately and efficiently input direct source information as needed
  • Create spreadsheets for balancing and accurately tracking figures
  • Compile, verify, and sort information for review
  • Check data for deficiencies or errors and correct any discrepancies
  • Assist with organizing record-keeping of income and expenditures
  • Input journal entries for all receipts, payments, and other financial transactions
  • Assist with filing source documents for all journal entries recorded
  • Performing other supportive bookkeeping and data entry duties as required


  • Knowledge with PCS software is a must
  • Self-directed and detail oriented
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with specified time constraints
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • At least 40 wpm and 10-key experience
  • Team player and critical thinker

Experience and/or Education Requirement

  • 2-4 years of experience bookkeeping, and administrative work
  • QuickBooks & Excel experience strongly preferred
  • Able to handle critical fast paced environment
